Pier

Cigar Island, Ontario

This remote project involved the design and construction of a new pier for a private client’s island off the shore of the Bruce Peninsula. Due to the island location, barges were used to transport labour, equipment, and materials to the site. The work included cast-in-place foundations, permanent gabion baskets, precast deck panels, a boat lift, and rock protection. With changing weather conditions on Lake Huron presenting a major logistical challenge, deliveries and construction activities were carefully coordinated to maintain worker safety and keep the project on schedule.
